100 Women Who Care Rural Cape Breton accepting charity nominations

100 Women Who Care Rural Cape Breton is now accepting nominations for its next giving event, set to take place on August 27 at the Whycocomagh Waterfront Centre.

The group, which brings together community-minded women from across the region, will once again be awarding at least $10,000 to a local nonprofit. Nominations are open to both current members and those interested in joining the group.

Three nominated charities will be drawn at random and invited to present their work to members during the August gathering. One of those charities will be selected by vote to receive the full donation.

The deadline to nominate a charity is July 29, 2025. Full details and the nomination form are available online at www.100womenruralcapebreton.com.

In 2024, Leeside Transition House Society received more than $11,000 in funding to support its work helping women and families escape violence.
