Generous community members cram R.C.M.P. cruiser for local food banks in Richmond Co.

Heartwarming kindness trumped the bitter cold in Richmond County.

Cram the Cruiser, organized by RCMP Constable Stacey MacRae, took place at St. Peter’s Foodland, the Grand River Fire Hall and the Louisdale Co-op on Saturday.

According to a St. Peter’s Food Bank Facebook post, over 300 bags of food were donated along with almost $1,500 in cash.

RCMP officers and residents pitched in to make the event a huge success. Volunteers with the L’Ardoise, Potlotek and St. Peter’s volunteer fire departments and food banks got involved. Staff of the local Foodland had even prepared grocery bags for their customers to donate to area food banks.

As well, Ashley MacIsaac and Mike MacInnis performed.
