Town of Antigonish Applies for Funding to Pay for Feasibility Study

The Town of Antigonish is hoping to start a feasibility study to determine if having a Community District Energy System would be efficient in creating green energy for the town

Mayor Laurie Boucher says they hope to use this system for StFX to replace their central heating plant and they want to get as many big buildings off fossil fuels as possible. The central heating plant at StFX uses bunker C oil.

The town has resubmitted a funding application to the Invest in Canada Infrastructure Program to help cover the cost of the feasibility study.

The town agreed to resubmit the funding application at the last regular meeting of council.
