Municipality of the County of Inverness Holds Special Meeting for Local Volunteer Groups.

The Municipality of the County of Inverness held a special meeting on Thursday to hear from various community groups. The organizations in attendance provided feedback to the municipality on their accomplishments and the resources they will need from the municipality going forward.

“One of the organizations was the Inverness County Centre for the Arts and they outlined their new concert series and new exhibits that brought in a record number of visitors.” says Municipal CAO Keith MacDonald. “They also outlined how the cost of heat and operational activities has put a strain on their finances and they will be seeking more assistance to allow them to continue their work for the county.” “There is great deal of accomplishments with all of our volunteer organizations and their work is greatly appreciated.”

The municipality will continue to determine how to assist volunteer organizations and volunteers. They will also continue to recognize community workers with their volunteer recognition events.
