Work on Inverness Beach, boardwalk for wastewater pipe upgrades

A heads up over ongoing work in Inverness County.

The municipality says a portion of Inverness Beach and boardwalk will be temporarily impacted while crews replace a portion of a wastewater pipe that is aging, underneath.

The outfall pipe is about 180 meters of 1,000 meters.

It is responsible for transporting treated wastewater from the plant to the Gulf of St. Lawrence and was installed in 1972.

The municipality says construction will be in three phases over the next week.
