Measles vaccinations offered in Port Hawkesbury Tuesday

Eastern Zone Public Health will hold a measles vaccination clinic in Port Hawkesbury on Tuesday.

Nova Scotia Health says the risk of this very contagious viral infection remains low in this province, but cases are on the rise in other parts of Canada.

Most occur in unvaccinated people who have travelled to places where there are measles cases.

The May 20th clinic will be from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Port Hawkesbury Public Health Office at 708A Reeves Street, Unit 4.

The health authority says first and second doses of the following vaccines will be offered:

  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (MMRV)
  • Measles, Mumps Rubella (MMR)
