More housing for healthcare workers in Guysborough County has officially opened.
The province says there are eight units, one and two bedrooms, close to amenities and the Guysborough Memorial Hospital.
Greg Morrow, MLA for Guysborough-Tracadie says, he is thrilled to welcome home committed and hard-working healthcare professionals.
“Because of this housing that was specifically built for them, we’ve been able to fill critical healthcare positions and recruit new health professionals to our community who otherwise wouldn’t have been able to come. This is an exciting day for our community and for our healthcare facilities.”
In addition to this project, the province is also spending $627,000 through the Community Housing Aquisition Program on a six-unit affordable housing project in Boylston.
Another $13,700 came from Nova Scotia’s Community Housing Growth Fund.
In Boylston, five units are two bedrooms, and one is unit is one bedroom, ranging from $750 to $850.
Since 2023, more than $120 million has been invested in more than 1,400 affordable units across the province.
