Drivers stuck in traffic at Canso Causeway Tuesday

Some travelers got hot under the collar at the causeway.

Scheduled pavement patching at the Canso Causeway and Port Hastings Rotary took place most of Tuesday.

It caused significant delays and backups.

There were social media reports of waits over an hour and traffic lined up more than 10 kilometers – and even past the NSCC Strait Area Campus at one point.

Adding to traffic slowdowns, there was at least one fender bender plus a yacht that passed through the canal.

Paving wrapped up by Tuesday evening.
