Kids get to try lacrosse in Inverness Co.

Young athletes in Inverness County will get to learn the basics of one of Canada’s fastest-growing sports.

A new four-week lacrosse skills camp launches on Wednesday at the Dr. Bernie MacLean Athletic Centre.

For children ages 6 to 13 with little or no experience, it will provide an introduction to lacrosse fundamentals like basic stick handling and rules.

Led by an experienced coach and former player, the sessions focus on skill development, teamwork, and building confidence in a supportive environment.

Recreation Programming Coordinator Jason Calder says, “This is an exciting opportunity for youth in our area to try something new. Lacrosse is new in Inverness County, and this camp gives kids a great chance to learn the basics in a fun, low-pressure setting. We’re thrilled to be offering it.”

The municipality says registration is now open, and spots are limited. Visit www.playfinder.ca.
