You Might Be Able to See Some Meteor Showers This Week!

Nova Scotia is in for a starry treat this week as the Perseid meteor shower reaches its peak from August 11 to 13, 2025.

What to Expect

During peak viewing, you could see up to 60–100 meteors per hour.

Best Time to Watch

The best time to catch the show is just before dawn, when the sky is darkest and the radiant point in the constellation Perseus is highest.

Viewing Tips for Nova Scotia

  • Face northeast: Meteors radiate from the Perseus constellation.
  • Let your eyes adjust: Spend 20–30 minutes in the dark for best results.
