SAERC grad in need of life saving treatment

Corey Welsh is originally from Port Hastings and graduated from SAERC in Port Hawkesbury in 2004, his wife Alicia is also a SAERC grad.

Corey has been battling stage four colon cancer for nearly a year. Part of Corey’s treatment will include a liver transplant. He recently received the news that he is no longer eligible for a liver transplant in Canada.

Friends and family are raising money in the hopes that they can get the care needed in the United States. This care may include surgical removal of a tumor, the implantation of a hepatic artery pump, and ultimately, a liver transplant.

As you can imagine, the cost of the treatment is very high, upwards of $300, 000

Corey and his wife Alicia now live just outside Halifax with their 2 daughters.
