Families and loved ones said goodbye and good luck to the 256 sailors aboard HMCS Fredericton over the weekend.
Yesterday afternoon, hundreds gathered for a departure ceremony as the warship deployed for six months to the Mediterranean Sea on Operation Reassurance.
It’s in support of allied efforts in the region.
The ship will work alongside our global allies to strengthen security, stability and international cooperation efforts throughout the Euro-Atlantic region.
They are scheduled to return back to Halifax this summer.
