Man in hospital after stabbing in Eskasoni

A 31-year-old man is in hospital with serious injuries after a stabbing in Eskasoni.

RCMP say it was 4:15am Saturday, August 20, on Shore Rd.

The victim was taken to hospital with injuries in the upper abdomen that were believed to be serious.

The suspect, a 34-year-old Eskasoni man, known to the victim, was arrested later that evening on Mountain Rd.

After searching a home on Shore Rd, officers found a knife, clothing and DNA.

The suspect will be in court today facing several charges:

Aggravated Assault, Uttering Threats (2 counts), Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose(2 counts), Mischief (3 counts), Breach of Probation (3 counts) and Failure to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order (2 counts). Morris Jr. has been remanded into custody and will appear in Sydney Provincial Court today.
