Local museums are getting their first funding increase in more than 15 years.
The province announced more than $25,000 to five museums in the Inverness area through the Community Museum Assistance Program.
- La Société Saint-Pierre, $15,000
- Chestico Museum and Historical Society, $3,750
- Port Hastings Historical Society, $3,750
- Lake Ainslie Historical Society, $1,500
- Margaree Anglers Association, $1,500
“Our local history matters,” said Inverness MLA Allan MacMaster. “By granting these additional funds, we’re making sure to safeguard our stories and age-old traditions for future generations.”
The Community Museum Assistance Program supports the collection, preservation and interpretation of local history.
