Nova Scotia Health says there will be temporary emergency department closures in Cape Breton, Antigonish and Guysborough counties over the next week:
Eastern Memorial Hospital (Canso)
Closed until Monday, Jan. 29 at 12 p.m.
Closed: Monday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m.; Reopens: Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 7 a.m.
Closed: Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m.; Reopens: Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 7 a.m.
Closed: Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m.; Reopens: Thursday, Feb. 1 at 7 a.m.
Closed: Thursday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m.; Reopens: Friday, Feb. 2 at 7 a.m.
Closed: Friday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m.; Reopens: Saturday, Feb. 3 at 7 a.m.
Guysborough Memorial Hospital
Closed: Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 7 a.m.; Reopens: Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 8 a.m.
Strait Richmond Hospital (Evanston)
Closed until Monday, Jan. 29 at 8 a.m.
Closed: Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 7 a.m.; Reopens: Thursday, Feb. 1 at 8 a.m.
Closed: Friday, Feb. 2 at 7 a.m.; Reopens: Monday, Feb. 5 at 8 a.m.
Other scheduling
The emergency department at Glace Bay Hospital is open on Mondays and Tuesdays, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. with registration closing at 6 p.m. It will also be open on Wednesday, Jan. 31 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Registration closes at 6 p.m.
Urgent treatment centres in North Sydney and Baddeck are open, by appointment only, for patients with unexpected but non-life-threatening health concerns.
- Northside urgent treatment centre (Northside General Hospital): Open Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To book an appointment, call 902-794-8966.
- Victoria County temporary urgent treatment centre (Victoria County Memorial Hospital): Open Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. No walk-ins. To book an appointment, call 902-295-2983.
