If you want more information about the possibility of the town and county of Antigonish merging, the group Let Antigonish Decide is hosting a community meeting Sunday afternoon.
It comes after more than 75 per cent of Antigonish residents voted, in a recent survey, to have a say on consolidation.
It’s been a contentious issue for the last couple of years and this was the second survey on the matter.
The town and county voted 5-4 last month to consolidate, but the province needs to pass special legislation in order for it to go through.
This could happen as soon as February 27th, when legislature resumes.
The meeting is at 2 p.m. in Tracadie.
