Poilievre stops in Halifax

Federal Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre spoke in Halifax as part of his tour of the Maritimes.

Appearing at a downtown hotel Sunday, he launched his Axe the Tax campaign against the April 1st carbon pricing policy.

Poilievre told the rally he plans to force a vote in the House of Commons in an effort to stop it.

Seven premiers, including Nova Scotia’s Tim Houston, are urging Ottawa to cancel or pause the carbon tax increase.

However, federal Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault has said the carbon tax is the most effective measure against climate change.
