Fatal crash on Rte. 19

RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision Monday night that closed Route 19 to traffic for several hours.

They received reports that a pickup truck had struck a car making a left turn into a parking lot yesterday at 7:30 p.m., an RCMP spokesperson said.

They say a 36-year-old man and his five-year-old passenger in the pickup truck were unharmed. The 23-year-old man driving the car was also uninjured.

The passenger of the car, a 11-year-old girl, was taken to hospital by life-flight.

RCMP have confirmed she died of her injuries.
