Town of Antigonish welcomes former M.L.A. as chief administrative officer

The Town of Antigonish has appointed a former MLA as its new chief administrative officer.

Randy Delorey will oversee the daily operations of the town effective immediately.

According to the town’s announcement, Delorey brings a wealth of experience in strategic planning, governance, public policy, and issues management.

Delorey served eight years as the MLA for Antigonish, and the minister to multiple provincial departments including Environment, Finance, Health and Wellness, and Justice.

In a statement, Delorey says, “I am honoured to join the Town of Antigonish as the new CAO. I am excited to work collaboratively with Council, staff, and the community to build on the town’s successes and tackle future challenges. Together, we will continue to make Antigonish a great place to live, work, and visit.”

Mayor Laurie Boucher says they are thrilled to welcome Delorey to the team.

Boucher also thanked the outgoing Interim CAO, Marvin MacDonald, who came out of retirement to lead their administration during a transitional period.
