SiRT investigates arrest by Cape Breton Regional Police involving injuries

The Serious Incident Response Team is investigating after a man was injured while being arrested by Cape Breton Regional Police.

According to a SiRT release, preliminary information suggests that officers were conducting a surveillance on a male as part of an ongoing investigation.

Police found him in vehicle on a dead-end street.

During the arrest, there was a struggle and the man sustained serious facial injuries and a fractured elbow.

Police contacted the SiRT about the matter on July 24th.
