The Port Hawkesbury food bank is receiving a $144,438 donation through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund. The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Official Languages and Minister responsible for Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.
The money will go towards renovations to help with safe social distancing, washrooms, entrances and exit doorways, installation of new refrigeration units, roofing and eavestroughs, and a wheelchair ramp for accessibility. Changes will also come to the façade of the building to provide more privacy and protection for the food bank’s clients. The food bank serves Mulgrave, Aulds Cove, West Bay, and Dundee areas.
