Applications open for seniors grant program, eligibility expands

If you are a senior, applications are now open for the Seniors Care Grant Program to help with some basic costs.

Eligibility has expanded, so if you have a household income of up to $45,100 you can apply.

The previous cut off was $37,500.

“The Seniors Care Grant program has helped tens of thousands of seniors with the supports they need while giving them the peace of mind they deserve,” said Barbara Adams, Minister of Seniors and Long-Term Care.

A grant of $750 is provided that can go toward things like meals, medication and home heating.

To apply, you must be 65 years or older by March 31, 2025, and live in a home you own or rent.

More than 97,000 grants have been given out since the launch in 2021.
