As the Municipality of the District of Guysborough prepares for Hurricane Fiona, Warden Vernon Pitts wants everyone to take necessary safety precautions.
Two safe buildings have been set up for people that need shelter. The safe buildings are the Chedabucto Lifestyle Complex in Guysborough and the Canso Hazel Hill Fire Station in Canso and they are both set to open at six o clock this evening. Seniors living alone, people living on the coast, residents living in areas prone to flooding, and people that don’t feel safe in their homes are encouraged to use these buildings
The municipality will also set up comfort stations after the storm has settled. Warden Pitts wants to remind people to take precautions during the storm and to look after your neighbor’s and one another.
