Deal reached to end Dalhousie strike

The strike is over at Dalhousie.

Hundreds of unionized workers voted to accepted a new deal with the university over the weekend.

Part-time instructors, teaching assistants, markers and demonstrators walked off the job on October 19. In a tweet Saturday, CUPE revealed nearly 80 per cent of members voted in favour of the new collective agreement.

The agreement includes a 23 per cent raise for part-time instructors and teaching assistants, and a 44 per cent raise for demonstrators and markers.

The two sides were at odds over pay and job titles.
