The Canso Lions Club has been working hard this holiday season serving the community.
The club donated $200 to the Guysborough County Christmas Spirit, $150 to the Canso and Area Daycare Association, and $625 to the Canso and Area Hockey Association to help with registration for two area youths. The Lion’s kitchen has also taken the time to cater Christmas meals.
A special tradition returned to the Lions Club this year with a visit from The GOALS clients from Guysborough who enjoyed a nice Christmas gathering with games, prizes, a sing along, and a visit from Santa who presented each client with a gift from the Lions Club. Pizza and refreshments for the gathering were provided by The Guysborough Recreation Department.
In the new year, the club will be selling Club 100 tickets for the Canso Academy Bursey. The Lions would like to thank the community for their support, and they would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
