MLA Allan MacMaster Year in Review

Inverness MLA Allan MacMaster took the time to highlight the accomplishments made in 2022 in the riding.

“I think some of the things that would matter to people in our region would be the significant investments we’ve been making in healthcare, Increasing the hours of care for loved ones in nursing homes or creating a new transport system to take the strain off paramedics, all of those investments we’ve been making are going to take time to make a difference, but we started making them right out of the gate.” Says MacMaster.

He also highlighted the increases made to the local road maintenance budgets so we can expect more road maintenance in the riding over the next few years and government investments were made to cover the cost of cancer treatment for volunteer fire fighters. This investment helped many fire departments that were not able to fundraise during the pandemic.

One of the biggest goals for the new year is to begin the construction of the new roundabout in Port Hastings to address the traffic issues in the area. MacMaster says this project deserves the time and investment to ensure it’s done right. They presented the design to the public and they could see the effort made to improve the roundabout. MacMaster also plans to continue working to fix the housing issues and the labour shortages in 2023. Workers need a place to live and the best way to ensure people come to the region to work is to provide an affordable place to live.
