Municipality of the County of Antigonish Year In Review

Warden Owen McCarron of The Municipality of the County of Antigonish took the time to talk about the accomplishments of 2022

Besides working on consolidation efforts with the Town there has been a lot of development that has taken place in the County. “We look at things that have happened around recreation we look at the announcement back in the summer with respect to the active transportation links that are going to happen in the county.” says McCarron “Although we were very busy with consolidation, we still had to do the regular days’ work.”

In the new year, the County wants to continue with infrastructure projects including a sewer extension that would accommodate affordable housing and they will continue to support the affordable housing unit built on Appleseed Drive.

They also plan to look at ways to install renewable energy options and they will work to improve cell phone coverage in the county.
