Port Hawkesbury Lawyer Appointed to the Kings Counsel

Fourteen Nova Scotia Lawyers are being recognized with the prestigious Kings’ Counsel designation including one based here in the Quad Counties.

Port Hawkesbury lawyer Patrick C. Lamey earned this amazing honour in recognition for his outstanding contributions to the legal community. He is an honours graduate of the University of New Brunswick Law School and was admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar in 1993. His areas of practice include Wills & Estate Planning and Elder Law.

In addition to legal work, Lamey is a very community minded person that has done volunteer work for the benefit our fellow citizens. He is a member of the local Rotary Club and used to be club president.

Lamey says the recognition for several years of work in the profession and the community at large was extremely humbling.

The Kings Counsel designation took effect for the first time since 1952 after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, and the honours were appointed by Justice Minister and Attorney General Brad Johns.

A formal ceremony to honour the Kings Counsel appointees will be held this spring.
