Two People Arrested For $20,000 Worth of Illegal Cannabis in Cape Breton

Two people are facing multiple charges after attempting to move about $20,000 worth of illegal cannabis in Cape Breton.

The 47-year-old man from Ontario and 28 year-old woman from New Brunswick were stopped by Cape Breton police, driving an out of province van on Maillard street in Membertou, after police received a tip from Crime Stoppers.

They were arrested and 25 boxes filled with the cannabis products were seized as well as hash, thousands in cash and the 2017 Mercedes Cargo Van they were driving.

They are charged with Possession of Illicit Cannabis, Possession of Illicit Cannabis Resin, Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling, Possession of Cannabis forthe Purpose of Distributing, Possession of Cannabis Resin for the Purpose of Distributing and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
