Richmond County District RCMP arrest impaired driver

A driver is facing charges for operating a vehicle under the influence.

Corporal Chris Marshall says The Richmond County District RCMP received a report of a possible impaired driver on the evening of February 20th and the suspect was arrested at a traffic stop in Arichat.

The driver was taken to the RCMP detachment in St Peters and a breath sample found he had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit. He was released from custody and will appear in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court on April 24th.

The RCMP continues to take impaired driving seriously as it is one of the main causes of fatal collisions on roadways in Nova Scotia.

They would like to thank the individual that reported the driver.
