Pictou Beach Lodge Resort to close

Sad news for a popular tourism destination in Pictou County.

The Pictou Beach Lodge Resort will no longer operate it’s business this summer after damages from Hurricane Fiona.

According to the Pictou Advocate the owner says after a lengthy insurance process, they can’t continue, and it’s extremely disappointing.

The lodge is popular for hosting not only tourists, but wedding and businesses conferences.

Tourism Minister and MLA Pat Dunn said he’s very surprised as it’s one of the nicest places in the area.

The Lodge employed about 80 to 90 people and was in operation for nearly 100 years.
