RCMP make third arrest in Eskasoni homicide case

A third person has been charged in the death of Andrew Carter Morris, who was murdered almost two years ago.

RCMP responded to reports of a sudden death on Beach Road in Eskasoni First Nation the morning of August 9, 2021. Officers found a 30-year-old man’s body that they later determined to be Morris. His death was ruled a homicide.

Since then, RCMP has been working to solve his death. In February they arrested a man and a woman in connection to the case and charged them with first degree murder and armed robbery.

On May 4th, RCMP arrested a third suspect at a home on 74th Street in Eskasoni. They have charged the 23-year-old man with first degree murder.

He man appeared in provincial court today.

At this time investigators do not anticipate further arrests.
