Joint-effort leads to multiple arrests in Lunenburg, Kings counties

Nearly 30 people have been arrested in Lunenburg and Kings.

They are facing over 100 charges related to drugs and firearms, after investigations over a seven-week period.

The arrests came from a collaboration of the RCMP and Bridgewater, Kentville and Annapolis Royal police departments, along with the Nova Scotia Criminal Intelligence Service.

RCMP Corporal Chris Marshall says the groups wanted to combine efforts to enhance public safety.

“It was a successful initiative, and it’s something we’ll be looking to do more of for the benefit of our communities,” said Cpl. Marshall.

Over $60-thousand in drugs and 20 firearms were seized.

Some stolen property was also recovered.
