Kiefer Sutherland is the co-founder of Red Bank Whisky which is available in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland.
He was on a promotional tour last week. On Friday, he announced that they would shift the efforts to raise money for the Red Cross to support those impacted by the wildfires in Nova Scotia.
Red Bank Whisky hosted a private fundraising event in Halifax on Friday. They posted to Instagram on Sunday that they had exceeded their goal.
The Sutherland family has strong ties to the East Coast. Donald Sutherland was born in Saint John and lived in Bridgewater, NS when he was a teen. In fact, his first job was at another Acadia Broadcasting radio station, CKBW!
Kiefer filmed his first movie, The Bay Boy, in Glace Bay.
