Road reconstruction on two local gravel roads

Two local gravel roads are getting total reconstruction.

The Northeast Mabou Rd will get 4.2 km of significant work as well as 4.1 km of Foot Cape Rd.

“Reconstructing gravel roads is just that,” said Inverness MLA and Deputy Premier Allan MacMaster. “Many of these roads need a complete overhaul: ditching, brush cutting and a brand new road base.”

The provincial government’s Gravel Road Reconstruction Program capitalizes significant road work on gravel roads; compared to previous programs that didn’t invest enough in old roads that were getting worn out.

MacMaster says local roads are a priority for this government because they know they are a priority for those who live and visit here.
