Damaged trail to be fixed in Cape Breton

A major renovation for a trail in Cape Breton.

The province announced nearly $160-thousand for the Louisbourg Lighthouse trail.

Cape Breton East MLA Brian Comer says it’s going to help maintain the connection to nature and the community, and tackle the challenges of climate change.

The trail was damaged by Hurricane Fiona last year, and this will help relocate and rebuild sections further away from the shoreline to protect from future storm surges.

The trail has access to the Fortress of Louisbourg.
