Look up! There is a Super Blue Moon this week!

The forecast is calling some clouds tonight and maybe showers in the Quad Counties. Hopefully that will hold off so we will be able to see the the “supermoon.”

The moon will appear bigger as it orbits closer to earth. It would have been visible last night too, at its peak, but the weather didn’t cooperate.

You may also hear it called a “blue moon.” That has nothing to do with the color though, they call it a blue moon when there are 2 full moons in a single month.

The full moon will look bigger and brighter than it has all year this week. There won’t be another blue supermoon until 2037!
