Beach erosion in Shelburne County after Lee

Coastal areas of Shelburne County experienced some flooding during Lee.

The highest wind gust in Sandy Point on Saturday was 86 kilometres an hour, according to Environment Canada.

A few places in Lockeport were also flooded.

In Barrington/Cape Sable Island, EMO coordinator Dwayne Hunt says beach erosion was an issue.

“The Hawk, South Side, Stoney Island, the Causeway areas were impacted by the waves, and a lot of sand shifted around. As far as flooding or damage, it was no worse than a typical storm here,” said Hunt.

He says there were power outages through the area, but they were restored yesterday.

A few branches also fell.
