Bedford man charged for distressed dog: SPCA

A Bedford man has been charged with causing a dog to be in distress.

The SPCA says they received a report about an owner August 31, who was refusing to have their animal receive medical treatment.

Officers found the dog at a home emaciated, dehydrated and unable to put weight on its back end, with a large mass formed and untreated.

The animal was seized by officers.

The 55-year-old suspect will appear in court in November.
