Richmond council will remain at 5 elected seats

There won’t be any further changes in the number of council seats in Richmond County.

The provinces regulatory board has agreed the region is well represented with five council members after a review.

However, the review board gave the green light to make slight changes to the five districts to accommodate for communities of interest.

The last review process in 2014 slashed the number of councillors from ten to five.

The changes to the electoral districts will be posted on the Richmond County municipal website soon.
