Physiotherapists in N.S. can soon request X-rays for patients

Physiotherapists across the province, will soon be able to request x-rays for their patients.

Nova Scotia Health (NSH) says this should save patients time and unnecessary appointments.

Physiotherapists employed by NSH and the IWK can already put in requests, but this will now allow those working in a private practice to do the same.

Health and Wellness Minister Michelle Thompson says, “This change will reduce unnecessary demands on family physicians, nurse practitioners, and emergency departments, and save patients and physiotherapists time.”

The change is slated for early spring.
