Generator funding for legion in St. Peter’s

An organization in Richmond County is getting provincial funding to prepare the community for power outages.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #47 in St. Peter’s will receive $50,000 for the installation of a generator.

It comes from the Houston government’s Community Generator Fund.

The program helps facilities create comfort centres for Nova Scotians during extreme weather and prolonged power outages.

In a release, Richmond MLA Trevor Boudreau says, “This funding signifies a crucial investment in our community’s preparedness and safety during times of crisis.”

Boudreau adds, “It reflects our dedication to providing essential services and support to all residents, ensuring that they have a place to go where they will feel safe and secure.”
