UPDATE: Heavy police presence in Aulds Cove after reports of shots fired

There has been a heavy police presence in Aulds Cove.

On X, shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday, RCMP said officers were responding to reports of shots fired near the 14000 block of Highway 4 in Aulds Cove.

Police said they believe it is an isolated incident and that those involved know each other.

They advised people to stay away from the area.

Antigonish RCMP officers were still on the scene as of 9:30 a.m.

Police said there is no risk to the public at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
