Are your eclipse glasses safe?

Amazon has issued a recall for some eclipse glasses that have not been approved by the American Astronomical Society. You would have received the recall notice if you purchased ones that fall under the recall.

How can test your eclipse glasses to make sure they are safe?

Put them on inside. You should not be able to see anything through the lenses.

Any company selling a sub par product can print anything on their glasses, so don’t assume if it says “NASA approved” that they are fine.

Viewing the eclipse without proper eyewear could result in permanent eye damage. The effects wouldn’t be noticeable right away but vision loss the following day could occur.
