Water back on at Inverness hospital, appointments to resume Thursday

Water is back at the Inverness Consolidated memorial Hospital after a broken pipe was fixed.

Nova Scotia Health says any outpatient services that were cancelled Wednesday will resume Thursday.

Hospital staff are reaching out to patients whose appointments were cancelled to try and reschedule, the health authority says.

This follows a boil water advisory in the area, Wednesday morning, where residents were advised to bring tap water to a rolling boil and maintain for at least one minute.

The boil order will be in place until test results show the water is safe for drinking, the health authority says.

The municipality says to cool water before using it for drinking, preparing infant formulas, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and preparing beverages and food.

A similar event happened at the QEII in Halifax in April.
