Tourism looking strong in N.S.

A positive outlook for tourism in Nova Scotia.

This after events like SailGP, which drew over 50,000 to Halifax in June and more tickets are being booked on the ‘CAT’ ferry from Maine.

Tourism minister Allan MacMaster says it’s too early to get official numbers on visitors.

“Last year was not quite up to where the province was for tourism before the pandemic, but it’s making progress toward that level,” said MacMaster after cabinet meetings.

He says events like these certainly help spur tourism.

Last year, Nova Scotia welcomed 2.2 million visitors, which was up over the previous year.
