More affordable housing coming to Antigonish

More housing developments in Antigonish.

Seventeen affordable units will be added as part of phase two of the Appleseed Court project.

The three buildings will be close to grocery stores and schools, construction is getting underway soon.

All three levels of government are providing funding, totaling $5.8 million.

Health minister Michelle Thompson, who represents the area says it shows what can be accomplished when all governments and community partners work together to increase housing.

The buildings are expected to open next year.

The project is managed by the Antigonish Affordable Housing Society.
