Pair charged following Inverness Co. traffic stop expected back in court in the spring

Two people facing drug charges following a traffic stop in Inverness Co. have had their case adjourned.

RCMP say members of the Inverness-Richmond District Street Crime Enforcement Unit laid the charges after they stopped a car on Rte. 19 in Port Hastings in June.

They say they arrested an Antigonish man and a Port Hastings woman after they seized roughly 50 grams of cocaine.

Police originally charged Gabriel Chaisson, 41, and Carol Taylor, 41, with trafficking cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

The case of the pair, who made their first court appearance the day after their arrests, returned to Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Monday; it was adjourned until April 10.
