Ordering now open for ‘pay what you can’ school lunch program

The new provincial School Lunch Program is now open for ordering. September 20-25 you can place an order for October 1 which is the first date the lunches will be served.

These will be affordable lunches ordered through an online pay-what-you-can system that allows you to pay what you are able.

The program’s menu is made up of 40 different lunches & each school day there is a choice between 2 options with at least one vegetarian option.

For example, the first lunch (which will be on Tuesday, October 1) will be soft-shell beef or black bean tacos. Other meals served that week include sweet and sour meatballs or tofu, chicken or falafel wraps, and mini veggie or cheese pizzas.

You can either choose to pay the full $6.50 cost, part of the cost, or nothing.
