Town of Port Hawkesbury hosts public meetings re: Reeves St. on Thursday

Public meetings about the contentious Reeves Steet lane configuration are being held in the Town of Port Hawkesbury.

Since being repainted from four lanes to three with some turning lanes, the layout has caused traffic issues, confusion and safety concerns for some.

Others support the intent to create more of a main street, rather than a throughway.

Council agreed in August to hold a plebiscite during the October municipal election.

The town is hosting open-house sessions on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Bear Head Room of the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre.
